# Chat With Your Stylist Inside the Glamease App

> Use Glamease's built-in chat to message your stylist directly, share inspiration photos, ask questions, and confirm details before arriving.

Glamease's built-in messaging lets you connect directly with your stylist before your appointment so you can arrive confident, prepared, and on the same page. Whether you want to confirm a style, share a reference photo, or ask a quick question, the chat feature keeps everything in one place without needing to exchange personal contact information.

## Opening a Chat

You can start a conversation with your stylist from two places inside the app:

<Steps>
  <Step title="From a Stylist's Profile">
    Navigate to your stylist's profile page and tap the **Message** button beneath their name. This opens a new chat thread directly with that stylist.
  </Step>

  <Step title="From Your Appointment Card">
    Open the **Appointments** tab and tap your upcoming booking. On the appointment detail screen, tap **Message Stylist** to jump straight into your existing chat thread for that booking.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Messaging is only available after you have an active or confirmed booking with a stylist. You won't be able to initiate a chat with a stylist you haven't booked with yet.
</Note>

## What You Can Share

The Glamease chat supports everything you need to communicate your vision clearly:

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="Text Messages" icon="message">
    Send plain text to ask questions, confirm your appointment time, or share any special requests or considerations your stylist should know about.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Inspiration Photos" icon="image">
    Upload photos directly from your camera roll to show your stylist exactly the look you're going for, whether it's a hair color, braid pattern, nail design, or makeup style.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Appointment Questions" icon="circle-question">
    Ask about prep steps, what to wear, how long the service will take, or anything else you want to clarify before you arrive.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  Send your reference photos at least 24 hours before your appointment. This gives your stylist enough time to review your inspiration, source any special products or tools, and give you an honest heads-up if the look will require adjustments based on your hair type, nail length, or skin tone.
</Tip>

## Response Times

Stylists on Glamease manage their own schedules and availability, so response times will vary. Most stylists reply within a few hours during their working hours, but some may take up to 24 hours depending on how busy their day is.
